Classroom animals
The work cat is a 2-page PDF form that children can fill out to “adopt a classroom animal.” If a subject heading were assigned to this form, the existing heading Pet adoption would be most appropriate. Other works cited in the proposal were adequately cataloged (in LCDB) using the headings Zoology—Study and teaching (Middle school) and Zoology—Study and teaching (Elementary).
The meeting concluded that proposed heading is not appropriate for the works being cataloged. The proposal was not necessary.
SACO tells teachers to keep animals in their cages. Nice.

155 Zines [gp2014026210] (C)
555 BT Ephemera
The reason it's been so long since I posted one of these is that I was initially ecstatic to see this list, thinking that it meant that Zines had finally been declared a format, meaning that I could assign something a subject heading like Cats—Zines, the way I can assign Cats—Comic books, strips, etc. But that's not what happened. Zines is now merely an official genre term. It's a controlled vocabulary item, at least, but that doesn't really do the user any good.
