This just reminds me that I heard on the radio that Mayor Bloomberg wants NYC teachers to take only a 2% raise this year instead of 4. Or he's going to cut a bunch of their jobs. First of all, I don't like his bullying threat. But also, while I don't think it's such a terrible thing to ask them to get less of a raise right now while the whole city is financially fucked, I do think it's kind of hypocritical when NYC landlords got a 3-6% raise this year. I think city raises should be tied to the increase to sign a new 2 year lease.
