my expectations.

So yeah, this is an autobiography by a 35-year-old TV star, but it knows it. Spelling doesn't pretend she didn't grow up rich or that she got her acting breaks on her own.

...all I wanted was to be normal. (Isn't that the way it always goes? Plenty of children spend their days wishing they were rich, and what do rich kids do? Wish they were normal. I guess we all glamorize whatever it is we aren't, but I know we rich kids can't go around asking for sympathy.) p.16

She cops to her part of the responsibility for her troubled relationship with her mother and her divorce from her first husband. Maybe I'm a sucker, but I more or less bought it. There's not as much behind the scenes dirt about Beverly Hills 90210 and whatnot as I'm sure some readers will be after, but she hints at things so that you get an idea.

...in the course of the ten years the show was on the air, everyone in the cast pretty much slept with everyone else, and no serious relationships ever developed. p.43

Mostly, I think she wrote this book for the money (She didn't inherit her father's multimillions.), but that's all right. I read it in a day. Tastes like: pink Neccos, which by the way are not vegetarian.
