I'm trying to catalog the zine, "I'm fat. You're fat. We're Fat! A collaborative zine project." It's a fat power zine, but sadly there's no subject heading for that. I looked in the Library of Congress catalog to see how they treated similar themed content.
Titles like Fat and Proud: The Politics of Size, Revolting Bodies?: The Struggle to Redefine Fat Identity, Fat Power: Whatever You Weigh is Right, and Fat!So?: Because You Don't Have to Apologize for Your Size carry OBESITY and OBESITY IN WOMEN subject headings, which I think kind of miss the point for those titles and for I'm Fat, especially given the name of the conference for which the zine was created, Fat is Contagious: Political Fat Queer Visibility and Action in the Age of the "Obesity Epidemic."
So please, LC, consider this an affirmation of Sandy Berman's December 2007 suggestions of FAT ACCEPTANCE MOVEMENT and SIZEISM (which is currently a cross reference to PHYSICAL-APPEARANCE-BASED BIAS).
btw If any of my syndetically inclined friends wanted to fill out the SACO web form for either of these headings, I wouldn't mind!

Yes, LCSH is definitely problematic (look how diplomatic I'm being!) in this area. I'd suggest adding Body image and Overweight persons--Psychology to make it a tiny bit less horrendous.

Do you know it freaks me out a little when I'm reminded that not only can strangers read my blog, but colleagues, as well.
See you tomorrow.
