I've inboxes zeroed (on my personal email account), so now my assignment is to tab zero. Here are some cool things I've been hanging onto for an unreasonably long time:
- Library of the American Library Association's prisonlibs Bookmarks on Delicious.
Whatever became of the whole Delicious scare? I switched to Diigo, as advised, but I don't love it. - Karen Healey's LiveJournal list of feminist YA fiction
I kept the page open because I didn't want to put all the books on hold at the library at once. I forgot about the list feature. I left the page open at Girl Overboard. - Taking the Lane
I need to buy these zines for Barnard! I like the "A zine is like a small book or a large pamphlet, but with extra magic." statement, too. - Caitlin M's website
I don't remember if I had this open for a specific reason, or if I just wanted to check it out because comics and zine librarian Caitlin is swell. - The Existential Loneliness of a Freshly Graduated Librarian
This tab is what prompted me to go to Caitlin's site. Blogging for Desk Set, she looks at the shitty librarian job outlook, and determines that librarianship is worth fighting for. And also that libraries and librarians are still necessary, even with the existence of the internet. "Well- I say that the internet may be big, but the vast amount of documented human knowledge, history, manuscripts, ephemera, and earthly experience that can be found in libraries, archives, and museums throughout the world can kick the internet’s ass any day." - Two medical sites: I need to make doctor's appointments. Can anyone recommend an Oxford taking nurse practitioner whose focus is gyn, not ob?
- We Make Zines zine librarianship query
I've been meaning to follow up on the Las Vegas Zine Library comment for over six months. Time to let it go. - Alycia's Print Culture conference report back
I so should have gone to that conference! Everywhere I go people tell me about it, especially Janice Radway's keynote, "Can the Underground be Saved?: Girl Zines, the Librarians Who Love Them, and the Reconfiguration of the Literary Sphere."
Because I am of course a librarian who loves zines and all print culture.
And that my friend, is Firefox (on my home computer) with no lingering tabs.

Dang- I should have gone to
Dang- I should have gone to that conference too!! Jan was just here doing more zine research-- we miss her terribly. Did you see her article in PMLA yet? Congrats on inbox zero. I would be hard pressed to get down to 100.

You should have! I haven't
You should have! I haven't seen the article, so thanks for the tip.
Inbox zero is for my personal account only. For work inbox 200 is my modest goal. In good times 175.
