ANNOTATED CARD PROGRAM (AC) SUBJECT HEADINGS
* 150 Show‑and‑tell presentations CANCEL [sp 96006104]
* 682 This authority record for an Annotated Card Program subject heading has been deleted because the heading is covered by an identical Library of Congress subject heading (sh2010014090).
Can someone explain this--canceling a heading because there is another identical heading?
(C) 150 Villains in the Book of Mormon [sp2010014417]

Show-and-tell presentations:
Show-and-tell presentations: Annotated Card Program headings are (or were?)juvenile subject headings. The name of the program was recently changed to the more transparent Children’s and Young Adults’ Cataloging Program, so I'm surprised the cancellation information note used that terminology. Anyway, usually any heading that's established in LCSH can also be used as a children's heading; only the MARC coding is different. But in some cases the children's headings use different terms, and for those cases there's a separate authority record for the juvenile heading. In this instance there used to be a juvenile authority record for Show-and-tell presentations because there was no corresponding LCSH term. But now that it's been established in LCSH, the juvenile authority record isn't needed, so it's been deleted.
