The Lower East Side Librarian Library of Congress Subject Heading of the Week for Week 10, March 10, 2010, is:
(A) 150 Frankenstein's monster (Fictitious character) [Not Subd Geog] [sp2010002274]
450 UF Frankenstein (Fictitious character) [EARLIER FORM OF HEADING]
450 UF Frankenstein (Fictitious character) in literature [EARLIER FORM OF HEADING]
450 UF Frankenstein monster (Fictitious character)
550 RT Frankenstein, Victor (Fictitious character)
I feel for FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER wanting to have its own identity, and apparently now so does LC.
Honorable mention, because it's cute:
(A) 150 Wiffle ball [May Subd Geog] [sp2010001692]
053 GV881.8
450 UF Wiffleball
550 BT Ball games
Dishonorable mention, not because I dislike the heading, but because according to a little web and database research, one of the 450s is a bit ignorant:
150 Glam rock music [May Subd Geog] [sp2010001817]
053 ML3533.8 ML3534.6 (History and criticism)
450 UF Gay rock music
450 UF Glitter rock music
450 UF Shock rock music
450 UF Theater rock music (Glam rock)
550 BT Rock music
I'm not sure about the GAY ROCK MUSIC cross reference. Cross dressing, I can buy.

Should be RT, not UF. I
Should be RT, not UF. I think that glam was important in the 1970s cultural movement(s) that led towards broader awareness and (we hope) acceptance of wider ranges of sexuality.
