There's a lot going on in Pulp: two real-life stories, 70 years apart and three pulp novels. I found them a bit much to keep track of at first, and with the ebook being over 500 tablet-sized pages long, I think I could have lived without the novel-within-a-novel not written by one of the two members of the two couples. See what I mean?
Our current day protagonist, Abby, discovers a pulp novel written in the 1950s by Marian Love, which she eventually discovers is a pseudonym for Janet Jones. Janet is the other protag, discovering love during the red and lavender scares. Both stories take place in Washington, DC. It's a heartwarming book, but doesn't end up with everyone perfectly happy, which is how it should be, IMO.
