This anthology with an unattributed editor (someone had to select the authors, right?) collects stories from YA and paranormal fiction authors Meg Cabot (Princess Diaries), Kim Harrison (the Hollows series), Michele Jaffe (Bad Kitty), Stephenie Meyer (Twilight), and Lauren Myracle (Rhymes with Witches).
I picked it up to get the back story on Harrison's Once Dead, Twice Shy, which I read a week or two ago. The story, "Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper" wasn't bad. I didn't love it, but I didn't love the Hollows books either at first. I think it takes Harrison a book or two to find her groove. Same with her Young Adult voice.
I was also kind of excited to see what Ms. Meyer's contribution would be like, but oh my dog what a turd! Unlike a lot of people, I didn't have a problem with Bella not getting it on before she got married. I thought, the author is a Mormon, what do you expect? But the overt Christianity in the story "Hell on Earth" is just nauseating with half-angel Gabe Christenson saving Sheba from her evil competition with Jezebel and the rest of the prom goers from murder and fornication.
My favorite story in the collection, Jaffe's "Kiss and Tell," was also the longest, but it left me wanting to more about it's two main characters, Sibby the Sibyl and Miranda the superhero who works out her aggression as a roller derby jammer.
The Cabot and Myracle stories were meh.
