I'd never read John Porcellino's comics before because I mostly read stuff for work, and King-Cat is out of scope. But, a dear pen pal (Hi Kim!) mailed me this issue about a beloved cat, and zines about cats are always in scope for my personal reading.
Understand that the cat loving profiled in this zine was first encountered in 1992. If you can't deal with the implications of that--and I have a hard time with it myself--when I look at my eleven-year-old cat who I love so much it hurts and think about his lifespan I already feel the loss, you might not want to read about Maisie.
It's worth it, though, to read such a loving tribute to a dear friend.
I'm trying to page though the zine again to point out parts I want to call your attention to, but I'm getting choked up, so I won't bother. I'm writing the review three weeks after I finished the zine, so cat people, you know who you are. Minicomics people, you already know who John Porcellino is. Purchase info from king-cat.net.
