Nayyar seems like a sweet guy. He got into acting accidentally--because he wanted to meet girls. It kind of worked, too! Sweet, but also an actor/comedian/premature memoirist. He acknowledges the last in his introduction, so he's self-aware. He also does that thing that annoys me in comic actor memoirs and essay books (almost all of the ones I've read), where he assumes you bought the book. Therefore, I assume he's writing the book for a payday. That's probably cynical of me, because maybe he's just humbled. The "spending your hard-earned money" bit is one of only two bookmarks I made. The other is a quote from his father
Even though we are Hindu, Kunal, we must recognize that the Muslims feel just as strongly about their religion and their culture. And they also deserve the basic human rights we have. Why else would they be willing to die for their beliefs?
That's totally how I feel about people I disagree with, even if I don't want to have anything to do with them. I'm talking pro-Lifers, not people of faith, unless they have issues with my lack thereof.
