The story begins with a witch, a pixy and a vampire in a bar...
I re-read this with high hopes, enjoying a friend's new and happy embrace of the Hollows series. It was fun being reminded of how the story started and knowing what happened with all of the characters in the next nine books (ten, come January!). It's an okay read, the characters and relationships are already pretty great. I now recall that at some point in the series I noted that Harrison's writing improves. There were also a few typos in the hardcover, which makes me think that as the series got more popular, it also probably got more attention from the publisher and editors.
