Ayun's first graphic novel (I can call her Ayun, because we're friends) is a story that should appeal to tweens about a girl who moves to a new school and tries to make herself more interesting by faking a dire peanut allergy.
Her first day revelation of this medical ailment draws a bicycle-riding technology eschewing cutie who goes by the handle "Zoo" and woos protagonist Sadie with folded up notes delivered to her locker and home.
This kind of story is hard on me. The lies and knowing she's doomed to get caught make me uncomfortable, but it's a light, quick read with appealing drawings, and Ayun has a great ear for teen dialogue.
