This is a fun, silly read about a girl, Clara Shin, who is being raised by her 34-year-old Korean-Brazilian dad who owns a fusion food truck, KoBra. Clara is kind of an attention-seeking brat who may annoy you at first, but if you hang in, you'll probably like her. She has a nemesis, Rose Carver, who is a dancer and debate team captain who seems to narc on Clara every chance she gets. Things between them escalate at the junior prom, and damage is done. The girls' parents decide that Clara and Rose must spend the summer paying back the school for the damages by working in the food truck, which doesn't go well, with the two at each other's throats the first few days.
Clara is bummed to be separated from her besties, Patrick and Felix, who, like Clara, are all about pranks and mischief. She's also pissed that she won't get to meet with her Instagram influencer mom in Tulum, Mexico. Like I said, the story is fun and silly and goes down easy. There's also a too-good-to-be-true boy.
