WARNING: THIS BOOK WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED FOR ANOTHER SIX MONTHS.
I was lucky enough to get an advance reader copy (ARC) at the ALA Annual Conference. The adaptor is an LIS Ph.D., and the intro is by Nnedi Okorafor, and Junot Diaz wrote the front cover blurb. I thought it was the get of the exhibit hall ARC frenzy.
You know this adulation is heading for a "but," right? The only problem is that the ARC is in black and white, where the final publication is full color. The art wasn't made to be read in two colors, and it's not easy to follow that way. The adaptation is great, and I look forward to reading it in January and re-reading the novel, which I think I read 10ish years ago at this point, so who knows if I'm even right about the adaptation?
Regardless, my recommendation is to snap this book up...when it comes out for real.
