I wonder why ballot proposals aren't a big deal in NY, the way they are is say, California? I got 165,000 results searching Google for <new york ballot proposals> and 1,500,000 for <california ballot measures>.
This year I hope people will pay attention to and vote down ballot proposal #2, which to my mind is all about union busting and exploiting "voluntary" prison labor. Eric went to the trouble of writing a long post about it, so I'll just point you to what he said instead of hammering out some inarticulate rambling of my own.
PS Vote for Reverend Billy for Mayor. He would be a great mayor, and you can be pretty sure he wouldn't flout the voters' will on term limits! It's not like Thompson has a chance, but maybe the Greens do have a chance to get 5% of the vote, a magical number, at least at the federal level.
