- American Indians in Children's Literature
Found, I think, via the Anarchist Librarians discussion list. - Bitch 43
I am always a fan of Bitch magazine, but this issue was one of my favorites, with an interview of my friend Victoria Law, an article about everyone's crush on Rachel Maddow, the inside scoop from Anne Elizabeth Moore on how sexism was just as evident in the New York Times hoax as it is on the real paper, and an interview with my new favorite novelist Randa Jarrar. - International Zine Month
I had some idea about what zine librarians should do for this, a 24-hour-zine project of some sort, I think, but I can't remember what it was. - Jennifer Miller, of Circus Amok fame's new show at P.S. 122
You know I love Jennifer, who performed out wedding, and Circus Amok (Damn, we should have had the Circus Amok band at our wedding, too!)
I think she was more comfortable when she changed into her suit, though. - Jing
Although from what I understand librarians have been using Jing, a screen and video capture tool that give you a URL for your capture, thus making it easy to share (e.g. for chat reference), since the beginning of time (or, like 18 months), it seems like it came out of nowhere about a month ago. I've just downloaded it and will give it a shot next time I'm chatting and want to make sure the patron and I are looking at the same thing. I think you can annotate the image, too, with arrows and stuff, and if you're into that sort of thing, you can do an audio narration. - The Sketchbook Project by Marissa Falco
Marissa Falco, one of my very favorite zine publishers turned 32 of her Facebook friends' status updates into a drawing. They are unbelievably cute and funny. - Why Twitter, Anyways?
I'm still holding out against the Twit, but if and when I do succumb, I'll check out Deanna's guide.
That's all for now. Gotta head downtown to a Radical Reference meeting.
