Sedentary women was
Sedentary women was established, and not sedentary men, because Sedentary women is what was proposed. A SACO member library proposed the heading to provide access to works in their collection that focus on sedentary women, because they were cataloging such a work. Presumably they didn't propose Sedentary men because they didn't have a book about sedentary men sitting on their desk (um, the book, not the men)waiting to be cataloged. It has nothing to do with defaults or exceptions.
