The Lower East Side Librarian Library of Congress Subject Heading of the Week for Week 17, April 28, 2010 is:
Well actually it's three LIS themed headings:
(A) 150 Bound with books [May Subd Geog] [sp2010006245]
550 BT Books
(A) 150 Cataloging of bound with books [May Subd Geog] [sp2010006715]
053 Z695.23
550 BT Bound with books
From the second warrant, "bound with: A term used by cataloguers when referring to books published separately but subsequently bound together." I've got some zines that fit this category. I wonder if they'd consider Bound-with zines like Brainscan 24 & 25 by Alex Wrekk?
(A) 150 Information science—Sociological aspects [sp2010006126]
680 Here are entered works on sociological theories applied to information science.
450 UF Sociology of information science
550 BT Sociology
I was looking for a juicier warrant than Critical theory for library and information science: exploring the social from across the disciplines. And you know what irks me? That catalogers list the table of contents in a paragraph. Totally unreadable. Put in a -- before each new title/author to execute a line break. That's what I do, though of course that may be wrong and not allowed.

jenna, *both* of the bib.
jenna, *both* of the bib. records linked from your post have contents notes with the items separated by space-dash-space. That is indeed standard cataloging practice. If that results in line breaks in the display in Columbia's system, it's because Columbia's system is configured to do that in its displays. The difference between the two displays has nothing to do with what the catalogers did or didn't do, near as I can tell.

Thanks, Bill! I shoulda looked at the record. Naughty me.
It's weird that they display differently, since CU and LC both use Voyager. I guess it's a configuration option?
