LCSH Weekly List 10
(C) 150 Casein free diet—Recipes [sp2009001261]
450 UF Casein free cookery
550 BT Cookery for the sick
To me this isn't about cooking for the sick, about cooking vegan/kosher. The warrant for this heading, Mission in the Kitchen: Gluten-Free, Casein-Free, Whole Foods Inspired Cuisine provides recipes not so much for the sick, as for the allergic--people with sensitivities to wheat, gluten, and dairy, and also people with Autism, so I think COOKERY FOR THE SICK is kind of inaccurate and unhelpful.
(C) 150 Epizootic catarrh in cattle [May Subd Geog] [sp2008009647]
053 SF967.E65
450 UF Catarrh in cattle, Epizootic
550 BT Cattle—Diseases
550 BT Communicable diseases in animals
I was hoping the mad sounding phrase EPIZOOTIC CATARRH meant "mad cow disease," but rather it's an epidemic 'inflammation of a mucous membrane' in animals.
150 False imprisonment [May Subd Geog] [sp 85046991]
* 450 UF Wrongful incarceration
Warrants include a Wikipedia redirect and Google hit count, very reasonable.
(C) * 150 Gay erotic stories [Not Subd Geog] CHANGE GEOG [sp2008008657]
Does this mean it used to be [Subd Geog] and now it's not? I wonder what happened.
(C) 150 IBIS (Information retrieval system) [sp2009001068]
450 UF Integrated Botanical Information System
550 BT Information storage and retrieval systems—Plants—Australia
I don't think that's very descriptive, do you? I mean, it's like a database or catalog, right? And why does the authority record mention the IBIS home page, but not provide the link? Maybe it's not LC's fault. The IBIS page doesn't do a good job of explaining itself in lay terms either.
(A) 150 Interruption (Psychology) in art [Not Subd Geog] [sp2009001229]
I bet the art historians have been clamoring for this heading for a long time. Well thanks Dog, Wendy Koenig came along and wrote The Phenomenon of Interruption in the Visual Arts!

Literary genre headings
Literary genre headings without a language or nationality qualifier are typically coded Not Subd Geog, because LCSH allows more specific headings with the language or nationality qualifiers. In this case, the heading was incorrectly approved with May Subd Geog and this got caught and changed when the new headings Gay erotic stories, American and Gay erotic stories, German were submitted.
