(C) 150 Androids in literature [Not Subd Geog] [sp2009009278]
So overdue! The warrant is Herman Melville’s Billy Budd and the cybernetic imagination from 1995.
150 Cellular telephones and teenagers [May Subd Geog] [sp2009009462]
450 UF Teenagers and cellular telephones
550 BT Teenagers
Perhaps my frequent commenter from Michigan will explain why this heading was just established and yet the authority record already has a proposed update, to Cell phones and teenagers (which I'm all for, btw). This is said with curiosity, not aggression, in case that's unclear. I freely admit to being an amateur when it comes to cataloging, even if I do a fair amount of original cataloging.I also assert my right to question authority records, despite my outsider status.
150 Eighteenth century in motion pictures [Not Subd Geog] [sp2009009272]
053 PN1995.9.E34
550 BT Motion pictures
Do they know how funny this is? I'll give them a hint, "eighteenth century language to describe twentieth century concepts."
150 Moviemaking in motion pictures [Not Subd Geog] [sp2009008886]
053 PN1995.9.M654
550 BT Motion pictures
The mind reels. (Get it?)
(A,C) 150 Emotions—Anthropological aspects [sp2009009150]
550 BT Anthropology
Now this is just interesting. Sadly the warrant, Emotions in the field : the psychology and anthropology of fieldwork experience doesn't appeal to me as much as the LCSH. It's a little meta, which isn't always a bad thing, but in this case it's not my navel, so I'm not interested.

* 450 UF Catches CANCEL
* 450 UF Catches (Music)
I have to admit I'm giggling a little imagining the LC cataloging department watching Glee together, and maybe singing a little, when all of a sudden one of them is like, "Dudes—we so have to clarify what Catches are!
(C) 150 Male white collar workers [May Subd Geog] [sp2009009123]
450 UF Men white collar workers
450 UF White collar men

Thanks U Dub cataloger for applying this heading to Socially structured survival : the effects of occupational mobility and occupational context on older men’s mortality and occupational context on older men’s mortality. And thanks for cataloging old theses and dissertations in general!

450 UF Problem families [EARLIER FORM OF HEADING]
450 UF Problem family [EARLIER FORM OF HEADING]

Up with the less offensive term "dysfunctional"!
150 Smurfs (Fictitious characters) [Not Subd Geog] [sp 96003862]
* 450 UF Smerfy (Fictitious characters)
Smerfy? Really? That's some problem spelling, not that I object to LC being helpful with their cross references.

The proposed update is part of a large group of related change proposals that were posted on Tentative Weekly List 51 ( http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/tentative/twls0951.html ).
