Library of Congress Subject Headings Weekly List 51 (December 17, 2008) and Weekly List 1 (January 7, 2009)
LC welcomes to the catalog SCOOBY- DOO FILMS, sixty cross-references for BREADCRUMB SPONGE, and tweaks the standard form for dealing with bible characters.
100 Abraham (Biblical patriarch)—In the Koran [sp 87006406]

450 UF Abraham (Biblical patriarch) in the Koran [EARLIER FORM OF HEADING]
450 UF Ibrāhīm (Koranic character)
Also JESUS CHRIST, MARY, BLESSED VIRGIN, SAINT; and JOSEPH, et al. And also in the BOOK OF MORMON. If I understand what's going on here correctly, this is a very good thing. By removing the dashes between the name of the character and the story title, LC is acknowledging that there's not the BIBLE (i.e. Christian) by default, leaving all the others as special cases. That would be like always referring to Cordelia's role on Angel as if she was making a guest appearance from Buffy, not that she was fully a part of the new show, where her character took on new depth and different traits. But of course that's a bad example because those are two shows are connected. Maybe a better analogy would be the Batman from the comics, vs. the campy TV show, vs. the movies.

The specific genres above make a lot of sense, but does this one?:

Cuz you know how much I love cross references. Is this a record number?

A bit of a mouthful and with redundancy built right in, but still a nice add, I'd say.
(C) 150 Dead trees [May Subd Geog] [sp 98006031]
* 550 RT Trees—Mortality
As of this typing, there is no warrant in the authority record, which I've got to tell you is a real disappointment.

Drama just has a whole 'nother connotation, especially in a potentially campy context, don't you think? If you don't, just imagine Harvey Fierstein saying "Gay erotic drama" while wearing bunny slippers, and you should get the idea.

If this was Wikipedia, there'd be a list of NTs that would make the heading much more useful.

150 Human rights [May Subd Geog] [sp 85026379]

I assume you were also wondering wtf TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE is and why it is considered a related term to HUMAN RIGHTS. Here's the scope note: "Here are entered works on a range of judicial and non-judicial policies states may adopt to address past human rights abuses." I'm not quite buying it.

Would you have chosen INVISIBLE? I probably would have gone with DEEP, but at least there's a UF. Interesting that Web is capitalized. It seems to me that a lot of entities have desisted capitalizing "web," unless it's preceded by "World Wide," and that the Internet is now the internet.
We have Sandy Berman to thank for this one—not the PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, of course, but for suggesting the heading.
150 Prison industrial complex [May Subd Geog] [sp2008009529]
680 Here are entered works on the political and economic interests that advocate increased spending on imprisonment, and the belief that these interests are motivated more by profit than by the rehabilitation of criminals or the reduction of crime.

(C) 150 Whole wheat bread [May Subd Geog] [sp2008008742]

550 BT Bread
There is also a WHOLE WHEAT BREAD (MUSICAL GROUP), fyi. The note for the bread is kind of cute, "The wellness encyclopedia of food and nutrition, 1992: p. 315 (Whole wheat bread ... has more vitamins, minerals and fiber than enriched white bread ... In order to be labeled whole wheat, bread must be made from 100-percent whole wheat flour)" 1992---and I thought my cataloging backlog was bad!
