Now that library instruction season is winding down, many of my fellow reference and instruction peeps are breathing a sigh of relief and getting back to other projects. However I've got a few events to get through before I can give my full attention to weeding the reference collection, writing annual report documents, and cataloging zines like a mofo. Oh, and finishing settling into my new apartment!
Since when asked questions like "What are you up to these days?" I'm unlikely to give much of a response, here's what I'm up to for April:
April 11: Drupal Kitchen workshop with Eric at Computers in Libraries, Washington, DC.
April 15: ...every weapon is a tool if you hold it right... zine reading at Book Thug Nation in Williamsburg Brooklyn with Andria Alefhi, Erin Fae, Betsy Housten, Vikki Law, Tomas Moniz, and Eric Nelson
April 17: Anarchist Bookfair, tabling for Radical Reference. Also, "Hack Your Library" program, but I won't be presenting, just cheering on those who are.
April 23: "Confessions of an Accidental Archivist and Amateur Cataloger" presentation at the Organizing Anarchy panel at the Midwest Archives Conference in Chicago with zine librarians from Bowling Green State, DePaul, and the U. of Iowa.
April 23: Librarian Zinesters zine reading at Quimby's in Chicago, with Celia Perez, Nell Taylor, and Jami Thompson.
April 26: Documenting Struggle Radical Reference program at the Brecht Forum, NYC. Not presenting, not responsible in any way. I hope.
I think that's everything!
