Intrigued by the phrase
"record album that celebrated different reference books"
from the "Stickers in Pain" issue of Have You Seen the Dog Lately, I wrote to one of the zine's authors, Serena Makofsky for an explanation.
She promptly wrote back with a link to the Dic-Dic-Dictionary song from a children's album called What's the Good Word?.
This is a children's record about language, with one song devoted to how great dictionaries are. It's got lines like, "It's the perfect book you'll find to quench your mental thirst." and "The dictionary is so well organized it even has the word 'dictionary' in it. Look for it under the letter 'D.'"
Bibliogeekarific!
For the less high minded, the singer repeating the syllable "dic" fifteen times in a row will also provide a good laugh.
