Sadly, the LiveJournal lolbrarians community has been pretty quiet since the initial bunch of posts.
Happily, the posts that do go up are generally awesome.

He's from the UK, which reminds me of a discussion I had with Fiona Bradley, an Australian librarian when she was in NYC last month. It seems that Australian and British librarians aren't nearly as all about the online social interaction as we are in the U.S. I'm guessing Fi has as many library friends in the States as she does in Australia. I hope she confirm or contradict what I've said or write her own piece about this somewhere, but in the meantime, what do other folks think? Is it true/false? Why?

Most of the library blogs I
Most of the library blogs I read are from the States, it's true. One could forget that the US library landscape is different from the UK, with what seems to be an activist professional association, a constitutional right to free speech and a national library that technically isn't.
None of these differences explains the absence of a blogging culture. There are many library blogs from the UK, but few librarian blogs.

I wonder if some of it has
I wonder if some of it has to do with an American culture of entitlement, individual achievement, and self-absorption. That's not to say that single author blogs are a bad thing--far from it. I love them.
It's kind of interesting to look at the things I hate about the States and see how they might possibly foster discourse and creative expression.
