Tracking the Tempest picks up a few months after the end of the first installation in the series, Tempest Rising. Half-supe Jane True is still sexually and romantically (in that order) in thrall with her vampire boyfriend, but long-distance now. With Ryu out of town, Jane mostly works at the bookstore and trains with the gnome. She's learning defensive magic, which, this being a murdery romance, she'll need.
TR is a little tedious and predictable, and I find the authorial voice a little too pleased by itself. I might be done.
