I second Sandy Berman's December 17, 2008 letter to the Cataloging Policy & Support Office suggesting LIBRARY CATS as a subject heading. He cites an AP review of Dewey, the Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron and Bret Witter (which I notice, btw is available in Polish!) as warrant.

Library of Congress Subject Heading weekly lists, weeks 48-50
Includes subject headings under the categories:
You mean there weren't already SHs for these?
The end is nigh
What's hotter than a dozen cross references?
Good one, LC!
Brought to you by the gay cataloging mafia
From the Department of Scrupulous Attention to Detail
From the Department of Something for Everyone
Everything Urban, but URBAN FICTION
I was looking for a subject heading for VIRGINS. There isn't a heading I can find for people who haven't had sex. There is, however, one for VIRGINITY, which has some interesting cross references:
BT SEXUAL ABSTINENCE
NT JUS PRIMAE NOCTIS
In which I plea for the establishment of Library of Congress Subject Headings for URBAN FICTION (Sandy Berman's suggestion, actually) and various forms of PRIVILEGE.
I recommend a change in Library of Congress Subject Headings from -VICTIMS to -SURVIVORS. Affected subject headings for materials I've cataloged for the Barnard Library Zine Collection include:
ADULT CHILD ABUSE VICTIMS
SEXUAL ABUSE VICTIMS
LCSH Weekly Lists for 2008: 45 and 46, in which the Library of Congress welcomes ASSASSINS, CAPTIVE FROGS, HETEROSEXUAL MEN IN MOTION PICTURES, and POWER LINE BIRD STRIKES.
Library of Congress Subject Headings Weekly Lists 40-44.
In which the Library of Congress welcomes BOY BANDS, EMOTIONAL MATURITY IN MEN, PREEMPTIVE ATTACK (MILITARY SCIENCE) and OUIJA BOARD.
Also, I know Sandy Berman has asked before, but now my friend Greg Hom is, too. I hope LC will consider changing JEWISH-ARAB RELATIONS and any/all terms relating to it to the more accurate ISRAELI-ARAB RELATIONS. Greg's request is based on Palestine by Joe Sacco.
