This is queer self-discovery story, but also a story of friendship. It's told in three voices: Tara, the central character, a jock training to run her first marathon; Whitney Blaire, a shallow, rich bitch popular girl who may or may not turn out to have a heart of gold; and Pinkie, a loyal honor society doormat and worry wart. Their three-way friendship is tried when Tara takes up with a new girl that Whitney Blaire despised on sight. Pinkie doesn't have issues with the new girl, but the thought of Tara with her freaks Pinkie out. She's smart, but a little slow.
That's all I've got right now, other than a headache.
