The Cultivate Diversity database is a nifty tool from the Ocean County Public Library in New Jersey. You use it to find program and collection ideas for different service populations, by community, age group, or difficulty (amount of work it takes to produce).
Communities served so far include ethnic populations, people with disabilities, and GLBTQ. There are also staff training projects.
Metadata fields are: program (name), ingredients, directions, notes, community, age group, difficulty, relevant links, submitted by name and email, library, and date.
Very cool! And you can make it even better. Add your program now!
fyi I learned about this at the Rutgers symposium at which I presented with Valerie Bell, who I believe is the founder of this initiative.
